Eligibility (FIP.10)
Before any accuracy reward is paid, a provider must clear a minimum-participation gate across four protocols. Miss it badly enough and the epoch's rewards are withheld entirely.
The four protocols (FIP.10)
- FTSO anchor feeds — submit within 0.5% of the consensus median in at least ~80% of rounds.
- FTSO block-latency (Fast Updates) — deliver at least ~80% of your expected updates (providers below a small weight threshold are exempt).
- Staking — run a validator with ~80%+ uptime and a minimum self-bond.
- FDC — participate in at least ~60% of Data Connector voting rounds.
The 3-pass system
Eligibility is tracked as "passes." Meeting the conditions earns passes; falling short spends them. A provider with passes in hand absorbs the occasional bad epoch, but a provider at zero passes that fails the conditions has that epoch's rewards withheld. The design rewardsconsistent participation across all of Flare's data protocols, not just price accuracy.
This is a participation floor, separate from how well you score inside it. The reward bands decide the payout once you're through the gate.
